CONCEPT
Just as the Blue and White Nile meet in Sudan, A Confluence of Cultures celebrates the intersection of Sudanese diversity, and nurtures the relationship with our communities in Aotearoa New Zealand.
We were tasked with creating concepts that portrayed Sudan through a series of creative yet legible pieces.
AUCKLAND MUSEUM SHOW REEL 21’
CULTURAL COLLAGE MAP
Sudan is inclusive of a variety of cultures, faces and ancestries. We found a way to emotionally communicate the bonds shared by the people of Sudan through a series of unique photographs encompassed inside the map of the prolific country.
PHOTO WALL
We had to intricately vet the photographs and ensure that each photo arose a certain feeling within the viewer, telling it’s own unique story.
The first sighting of the photo wall was one to be remembered.
The final range of photographs that were chosen to be displayed were intricate in detail and clever in positioning.
SIGINIFICANT SITES
Sudan captures a collection of significant landscapes. We wanted to narrow them down to the most compelling few.
A weighted reason behind this project led to the curation of a breathtaking exhibition about the beauty, struggles and triumphs of the beautiful Sudan.
SUDANESE COMMUNITY MEMBER
“I lived in Auckland for a few years and I’m used to taking my children to the museum. I never thought a day would come when I could take them for a visit to an exhibition dedicated to talking about sudan, I am speechless.”
